Together for Goodness: Sustainability Report 2024

We nurture the dream of a good world. A commitment that we subscribe to and guides our strategy today and tomorrow. For those who choose us, for those who work with us, for our communities and the planet that hosts us.

Today, through the fifth Sustainability Report, we recount a commitment that has evolved into a solid strategy, rooted in our values and fully integrated into our business processes. A path made possible also thanks to an increasingly structured and transparent governance, which has allowed us to trace a clear direction, made up of concrete commitments and projects.

It is from this vision that our commitment to energy transition stems, which sees us moving towards increasingly efficient and low-emission production models.

Another essential aspect for a Group like ours is inclusiveness, understood not as a theoretical principle, but as an inalienable value that reflects our identity. And today we can celebrate an important milestone: the achievement of UNI/PdR 125 certification on gender equality for all our Italian companies, and start from here to continue creating more and more of a working environment that is fair, respectful and capable of valuing every contribution.

Here are some highlights on these issues:

Commitment to the environment – SDG7 ‘Clean and accessible energy’ andSDG12 ‘Responsible consumption and production’:

  • We have mapped the energy needs of the 18 plants to define the ideal energy mix and activated a€7 million-plus plan for energy efficiency.
  • In 2024, we installed a trigeneration plant in Altavilla Vicentina, which will reduce CO2 production by 1,776t per year. In addition, three photovoltaic plants were built in Martellago, Lendinara and Altavilla. This allows us to produce 10.6 per cent of our energy needs from renewable sources and we aim to increase this to 15 per cent by 2026, reducing CO2 emissions by 2472 tonnes per year.

Commitment to our people – SDG5 ‘Gender equality’ andSDG8 ‘Decent work and economic growth’:

  • Our 1,602 people (+15.4% vs 2023) have89% permanent contracts and 42 % are women. We promote youth employment with an incoming turnover of under-30s of 65.5 %.
  • We initiated the Road to Gender Equality programme, set up the Gender Equality Steering Committee and introduced a Group-wide DE&I policy. This led us to the achievement of the UNI/Pdr125:2022 Certification for Gender Equality.

Commitment to Consumers – SDG3 ‘Health and Well-being’:

  • We guarantee our consumers products that meet their needs better and better, in 2024 we activated 49 R&D projects and improved the nutritional profile of our main references.
  • We launched 16 new gluten-free products on the market and produced 995 tonnes of products for gluten-intolerant consumers.

Commitment to communities – SDG 2 ‘Eradicate hunger’ and SDG 3 ‘Health and wellbeing

  • In 2024, we supported 16 projects to bring value to our host territory, working first and foremost with schools and training centres in the area. This led us to receive the BITS Bollino Impresa in ITS from Confindustria, which certifies our commitment to the training of new generations and the dissemination of technical culture.
  • We have been at the side of Action Against Hunger, supporting a project that reintegrates women in economically fragile conditions into the world of work, and Fondazione Veronesi, espousing the ‘Pink is Good’ initiative for research into female cancers.
