Our energy transition path

Over five years ago, we embarked on an ambitious and necessary journey: transforming the way we produce, choosing a more sustainable future, reducing our environmental impact.

The energy transition for Morato Group is not only a strategic choice, it is a responsibility towards people, the territory and the planet. Every plant, every action, every investment tells our vision: to build a more efficient, cleaner, more conscious food industry.

The first step was an accurate analysis: we studied in detail the energy needs of our 18 plants, defining an optimal energy mix for each one. From this basis, a structured investment plan was born, exceeding 4 million euro, for the installation of photovoltaic systems on an industrial scale.

By 2026, these interventions will allow us to:

  • Reduce CO₂ emissions by 2,472 tonnes per year
(equivalent to approximately 80,000 trees planted)
  • Cover 15% of the Group’s electricity needs from renewable sources

Plants are already operational at the production sites of Martellago (VE), Altavilla Vicentina (VI) and Lendinara (RO). Even beyond the Italian borders, our commitment is taking shape: at the Briviesca site in Spain, we will install a 1 MW photovoltaic plant on an area of 5,400 m², capable of covering 14% of the local electricity needs.

With a view to the energy mix, natural gas also plays a particularly important role: for this reason, in June 2025, a new high-efficiency trigeneration plant will come into operation at the Altavilla Vicentina plant, capable of producing thermal, electric and cooling energy at the same time.
An investment of about EUR 3 million that will allow us to:

  • Recover and reuse heat otherwise dispersed
  • Reduce the consumption of fossil fuels
  • Reduce CO₂ emissions by 1,776 tonnes per year

Every achievement is a step towards a more sustainable future.
Because for us, every gesture counts.
