Empathy: a day with diabetes

On World Diabetes Day, we are proud to tell you about our participation in the project ‘Empathy: a day with diabetes’, the path promoted by Diabetes Italy and Personalive that allowed us to raise awareness among all our people, investigating the emotional, psychological and social dimensions of the disease.

Interactiveeducation, training and direct experience were the mix of this immersive pathway that accompanied our people for the entire month of November and culminated in the Empathy Day on the 26th, in which some of our colleagues lived 24 hours as if they were suffering from diabetes, monitoring their blood glucose with a glucometer and lancing device and documenting the experience with images, videos and testimonials.

Francesca Carpita, Corporate Communication Manager Morato Group, tells us: “Building a more inclusive and responsible society requires the commitment of everyone and the ability to put oneself in the other person’s shoes, to welcome differences and transform them into real wealth. With this project, we aim not only to provide information, but also to foster an open and constructive dialogue, which will help reduce social stigma and promote a more empathetic and supportive work environment, where each person can feel supported, valued, and able to face his or her condition with greater strength and serenity”.
